With the ACC's extraordinary performance in this year's NCAA Tournament (15-5), the conference's payout is now up to a record $35 million. Duke could make the ACC a bit more depending on how it does in the Final Four.

As always, though, the ground shifts in the off-season: Syracuse has already had some defections, though next year's class should easily replace them. Louisville will lose at least three players: Montrezl Harrell and Terry Rozier are going to declare for the draft while Anton Gill has announced that he'll transfer.

Meanwhile, former Clemson coach Rick Barnes, who of course left Tiger Town for Texas, where he was just fired, won't have to trade in his ties: Barnes has been hired at Tennessee, which is his third orange school in a row.

Dave Leitao, formerly of Virginia, has been rehired by DePaul, leading to a bit of a radio meltdown by Triangle talker Adam Gold, who went on a tirade about Leitao's courtside behavior, ending with him muttering "I hate Dave Leitao."

He's hardly alone in ACC country. Leitao irritated people up and down the Eastern seaboard.

Although folks in the Triangle haven't paid much attention, Miami is still active in the NIT and will play in New York, which Jim Larranaga is excited about.
