When you get down to it, you can define Duke basketball, as we've come to know it, with a few basic words: Tough. Resilient. Daring. There is room for a few more.

In the '70s, someone invented the term Spanarkeled. That was when Jim Spanarkel, pigeon-toed, not overly fast and a guy who looked clumsy (but he wasn't) just overwhelmed people with his heart and drive.

Maybe now we could add the word Winslowed.

Because down the stretch, Gonzaga was certainly Winslowed.

Justise Winslow hurt his ankle early and it clearly slowed him. Down the stretch though, the Houston native Winslowed the Zags.

How? Driving. Rebounding. Defending. Shooting.

And on a night when Gonzaga did a solid job on Jahlil Okafor, Duke's other starters stepped up to help Winslow, and no one more than Matt Jones.

Jones finished with 16 points, three rebounds and three steals. He hit 4-7 from three point range.

Jones hit two critical shots: the first came when Gonzaga was rallying and down just three points with 9:40 left in the second half. Jones hit a three to push the lead back to six. Less than half a minute later he grabbed a defensive rebound and on Duke's trip downcourt, Winslow hit a layup to push the lead up to five.

Tyus Jones finished with 15 points, six assists, three rebounds and two steals. He also had a highlight play when he was flying out of bounds and alertly bounced the ball off of the back of Gonzaga center Przemek Karnowski, as he was stretched out on the floor, to retain possession for Duke.

And then there was Quinn Cook.

Cook didn't shoot overly well (2-9), but nonetheless he provided leadership and helped to manage winning time.

And, we might add, defense.

Gonzaga's guards, Kevin Pangos and Gary Bell Jr., are both solid, experienced guards. They combined for nine points and hit just 4-14.

Duke thus moves on to a Final Four rematch with Michigan State. If the Blue Devils manage to win, they will get either a rematch with Wisconsin, after beating the Badgers on the road earlier in the year, or a different sort of rematch with Kentucky.

Duke hasn't played Kentucky in a while, but it doesn't much matter. If it happens, that'll be a huge game.
