NCAA Tournament 2015 - Cat's Bad Break

Cat Barber showed a lot of heart against Louisville, considering that he's been quite sick.

Cat Barber has had an eventful tournament. He's played great, he's offended the president (and apologized) -- and he's been quite sick, which explains his sub-par performance against Louisville.

According to coach Mark Gottfried, he's had nausea, diarrhea a fever and all manner of problems.

This has happened to Duke at least twice: first when Bob Verga fell sick during the 1966 Final Four and second when Bob Bender had appendicitis in 1979.

Even so, State was in the game with Louisville until the very end. And the future is bright: like UNC, it's hard to see anyone leaving early for the NBA, and with a solid core of young players returning - only Desmond Lee and Ralston Turner graduate - State should be set for a major improvement.

Louisville advances to play Michigan State, which should be a tremendous game.

On Saturday, Arizona plays Wisconsin in a rematch from last year and in the night cap, Notre Dame gets the greatest challenge Mike Brey has had at South Bend in this year's Kentucky team. The Irish have very little size to counter UK's massive presence inside but have a chance to shoot over them.

We'll see how it goes.

And of course on Sunday, Duke and Gonzaga go at it while Louisville and Michigan State lock horns.

Eight great teams, eight great coaches. It's going to be fun.
