We didn't see this in time Monday, but in case you missed it too, here's an oral history of the 1995 Duke-UNC game, the one where Jeff Capel hit the running shot to force overtime? The one where Jerry Stackhouse hit that stunning dunk? Yeah, that one.

Capel says something interesting, arresting really. Check this out: "I think that game, at least during my time of understanding the rivalry – I think that one epitomizes it the most."
You'd think that coaching would keep you in the rivalry, but not for Capel: he craves the player's perspective. There are some great comments in here, tons of fun stuff.
What we remember is watching the shot leaving Capel's hands and just...going...you know it didn't get quiet, but it seemed like it, like everyone was catching their breath...until it went in.
We're not sure it's the loudest Cameron's ever been, but it's right up there. The 17 point comeback over UNC was that loud, and the 1993 win over Michigan was also incredible. And come to think of it, the 1975 win over Maryland might have been the best. There was no greatness in Cameron at that point, and Maryland was a Top Five team. No way Duke was supposed to win that one, but the Devils pulled it off and when they did, Cameron blew sky high. People were climbing on the rims and backboards. It was a celebration for the ages.
But 1995 was pretty good too...for a loss.
