One of the greatest stories in coaching today is the rise of Danny and Bobby Hurley. They broke into college coaching together at Wagner with Danny the head man and Bobby his assistant.

Danny is now at Rhode Island while Bobby is at Buffalo.

Rhode Island is currently 17-9 and in third place in the A-10, while Buffalo is 15-9 and in 4th place in the MAC's East Division.

John Feinstein has a great article up on the two younger Hurleys, who of course are following in their legendary father's footsteps (if you weren't aware, Bob Hurley has built an astounding program at St. Anthony's of Jersey City despite not having a home gym).

How long will they stay where they are? We'd say Danny will be there longer: he wants to live in that part of the country and the A-10 is a pretty solid league.

Bobby has never said he was wedded to the North, although he may be for all we know. However, Buffalo is not a destination job. That's not to say he can't make it one, but we'd expect if a power conference job came open that he'd certainly consider it.

Just as a what-if, imagine when St. John's gets tired of Steve Lavin's act. That's a job tailor-made for either Hurley, but for Bobby, the difference between Buffalo and St. John's might prove to be too much to ignore.
