ACC teams don't lose to SWAC teams very often, much less at home.

The Hokies are incorporating six new players into the system which is a challenge, but coach Buzz Williams said it was a lack of defense.

The good news is that transfer Zach LeDay was sensational, finishing with 26 points and 15 rebounds. You might say well, yeah, but it was Alabama State. Well look around the country and see anyone anywhere who had better production Saturday. Well, maybe Butler, but that was a freak game.

No doubt Williams has their attention now.

We wouldn't have been surprised if BC lost too, but the Eagles did pretty well, and Jim Christian has essentially a whole new roster with two grad student transfers and eight freshmen (including one redshirt).

Eli Carter, who came over from Florida, had 23 points, while Raleigh's Jerome Robinson had 19 points, six rebounds and five assists in his collegiate debut.

On Sunday, Wake plays a usually tough Bucknell, Clemson tries to slow down the roadrunners of UT-San Antonio, FSU looks to drop Nicholls State, UNC plays Fairfield, and NC State faces South Alabama.

They'll have to do it without transfer Terry Henderson who tore ligaments in his right ankle and will be out 6-8 weeks. That means best case he'll be back in early January, but he won't be back up to speed right away. That's really a blow.
