When Different ACC Schools Won Consecutive NCAA Men’s Titles

It's almost a conference habit.

It’s an amazing fact of ACC life. Should North Carolina live up to its 2015-16 preseason billing, it would mark the fifth time ACC clubs from different schools won consecutive national championships.

This would also be the fourth time the Tar Heels helped to comprise one of those very dynamic duos, matching Duke.

Last year, of course, the Blue Devils won the NCAA title. Should UNC come through as the champ in ‘16, it would mark the third time the neighbors combined to capture two in a row. It would also mark the fourth occasion when Duke won in tandem with another ACC program.

Mike Krzyzewski’s 1991 and 1992 Devils also won back-to-back titles, the only time an ACC program managed that feat.
