Playing Pitt is no sure thing at any time, because Pitt, like Notre Dame or Nebraska, has always identified as a football school. But playing Pitt without Thomas Sirk would be very tough.

That could be the case though as Sirk is currently listed day-to-day after suffering a previously undisclosed injury at Carolina.

Backup Parker Boehme has been getting a lot of work in this week just in case.

Running back Shaun Wilson is also out, in his case for the second straight week.
