The conference has spoken and it's clear: Duke got screwed. Every official involved has been suspended for two games. It doesn't overturn the score but at least it's some vindication or what happened. Here are the details.

There were four specific problems:

1) when Mark Walton's knee was down the game should have ended. Period.

2) the officials missed a block in the back on the 16.

3) the officials called a block in the back on the 26 and then picked up the flag. They did not explain why the flag was picked up.

4) they failed to penalize the Miami kid who ran onto the field.

The second two errors, while important, didn't change the outcome of the game. The first two did.

One is bad enough, but two?

Now that the league has admitted this, it's time to make it right.

We agree with Chris Chase of USA Today: the ACC should vacate the win and give it to Duke. Duke won the game on the field and was screwed by the officials.
