Dick Vitale has gotten all fired up about Larry Brown and posted a column saying that the SMU coach "shouldn't be allowed" to coach college basketball.

We don't necessarily disagree with him - like his first college coach, Frank McGuire, Brown has long demonstrated a contempt for the NCAA and restraint imposed by rules - but we would like to point out, for the record, that Vitale spent a lot of time in the arguing the exact opposite - that Brown should leave the NBA and go back to college, where he could teach and instruct younger players.
