As Coach K stands at the threshold of 1,000 wins, you can expect a lot of praise to come in from different quarters, some of them unexpected. For instance, Brad Daughtery.

The former UNC big man had kind words for Krzyzewski in the pages of the Asheville paper, saying that "Mike's been great for the ACC, great for the rivalry with North Carolina and everyone else who plays them. It's a rivalry game for everyone in that conference.

"He deserves a ton of credit. He's had a lot of great players but the mainstay has always been Mike. It's an incredible feat he's about to accomplish."

He goes on to say he really appreciates his concern for Dean Smith, who of course is in failing health.
