Calipari Controversy And Chapman Arrest Make A Bad Patch For Kentucky

The latest slap at John Calipari comes from the Louisville paper, while Rex Chapman may have thrown away his reputation and possibly his freedom.

ARLINGTON, TX - APRIL 07: Head coach John Calipari of the Kentucky Wildcats calls to his players during the NCAA Men's Final Four Championship against the Connecticut Huskies at AT&T Stadium on April 7, 2014 in Arlington, Texas.

We heard about this and were looking for the picture but couldn't find it: after the Calipari-fueled Adrian Wojnarowski article/hit piece about Coach K, the Louisville Courier-Journal put up a picture of John Calipari in diapers crying and whining.

You'll say it's the Louisville paper and that's true, but Louisville is in Kentucky and there are a whole lot of Kentucky fans in Louisville, just like the rest of the state. You can be sure the Courier-Journal got a few cancellations after this.

The paper's Kentucky beat writer, perhaps sensing a rebellion by the restless natives, tweeted out an apology. That was personal though; we don't think the paper followed suit.

And speaking of Kentucky, Rex Chapman is accused of doing something incredibly stupid: he allegedly went into this Scottsdale Apple Store and stole $14,000 worth of merchandise in seven trips. He allegedly sold them to a pawn shop.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but Chapman, the one-time Boy King of Kentucky, made $22 million in the NBA. Did he burn through all of it? Or is he just stupid?
