Caulton Tudor posted a reasonably logical look at why Roy Williams won't take the Lakers job and then goes on to look at who might be considered for the job after Williams retires.
What he doesn't consider is the possibility that the scandal engulfing UNC athletics might still have a role to play in who coaches UNC basketball.

For starters, UNC whistleblower Mary Willingham will testify next week before the the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. Barring something totally unforeseen, that won't have immediate repercussions, but it's just one more bit of stress. Nothing she says is going to help UNC put this behind them, and there's no telling what she'll be asked or what her answers might lead to.
For its part, UNC is soldiering on: The Tar Heels, Kentucky, Ohio State and UCLA will hold doubleheaders over the next three seasons.
