The NCAA battle between the haves and have nots continues, with the SEC threatening to lead the Big Five to a new division if the power conferences are not accommodated and the rest of D-1 upset over proposals by the big shots to liberalize transfer rules.

In short, the fear is that big schools will just poach players from the rest of D-1 when there is a need.

It's also worth mentioning that freer transfer rules could really mess with basketball programs because anyone who transfers out with less than a 2.6 affects the APR.
