The Irish did Duke a big favor by taking out Maryland 11-6. Technically still in the ACC, Maryland would have relished a chance to beat Duke in the championship as sort of the last major accomplishment of the ACC era.

Won't happen now. With the Final Four in Baltimore, Maryland fans will have to pull for Notre Dame instead.

Kyle Keenan and Kyle Turri led the way for Duke with four goals and four saves respectively.

Worth mentioning: Notre Dame's Matt Kavanaugh, all 5-8 and 170 lbs., had five goals and two assists to lead Notre Dame to the 11-6 win. Duke should be well aware of him already, but if not, he certainly showed his ability.

The championship is Monday at 1:00 p.m.
