Clemson did the logical thing and extended Brad Brownell's contract, announcing the new arrangement on Friday. It's for six more years; we haven't seen anything yet about the terms.

For some reason, Brownell came in for criticism before this past season, but people should remember: he's coaching at fricking Clemson. What do you expect? The fact that the Tigers managed to get a really good, desirable young coach should be enough. Give him time to build.
That said, there should be scoring incentives in the contract. Brownell's style is effective, but he and Tony Bennett are the leading culprits in dragging down ACC scoring. Jim Larranaga was last year as well, but that was a one-year anomaly as Miami lost its top six players. No one complained about it the year before.
