Obviously, given our name, our focus is on basketball. But Duke is starting to succeed at many other sports. Lacrosse has become a dominant program. Tennis and golf are solid. Soccer has been really good at times. Even football has roared back to life after a long hibernation.
But baseball?

That's a sport without much tradition at Duke.
Yet it too is making a run. Although the Devils lost the ACC Tournament opener to Clemson, 5-3, on Thursday Duke got a really strong game from pitcher Drew Van Orden, who went the distance and pitched a shutout against Georgia Tech. Duke won 6-0.
Saturday won't be easy: Duke takes on traditional power Miami. Whatever happens happens. But look how far the team has already come.
