"I think it's not necessarily limited to three names that are more highly hyped. We've got to do a more thorough evaluation of all of the guys to know that we're not doing something too quickly. When you're looking at the guys who have all the hype they have that because of their upside and athleticism. There's more to it than just those three guys that people talk about."
Last year, the Cavs tried to get Kevin Love, but Minnesota wasn't interested. This year, with Love having told the team he won't be re-upping, a trade is preferable to having nothing.
Love, though, has expressed an interest in being with a team with a winning culture. Based on the reports of Luol Deng's unhappiness with Cleveland's culture - and NBA players can generally be presumed to be aware of such things - it might be tough to convince Love to make that leap.
In Cleveland's favor, the Cavs have Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters.
Love is likely to be a key to how the draft develops. He's said to be interested in the Lakers and the Celtics, and creative minds are going to put together intriguing trade scenarios. It wouldn't surprise us to see a major deal develop involving more than two teams.
