Mary Willingham has frustrated UNC partisans with her independence, but they'll see a lot more of that now that she answers to no one.

Mary Willingham, who worked with UNC athletes before realizing that not all was well, resigned her position after a Monday meeting with Chancellor Carol Folt.

Willingham's co-author, professor JMay, characterized the meeting as a "tongue lashing."

If Willingham held her tongue earlier, UNC's done nothing to earn that respect now.
