Here's an interesting list, although it's inherently subjective: which school has the best starting five in the NBA?
Duke and UNC come in at #9 and #8 respectively.
There are some surprises. USC is in at #10, Georgia Tech is #6 and Wake Forest is #3.
Paul Hewitt recruited well, but of the five listed, three stayed just one year.
Wake is a bit skewed by the eternal Tim Duncan, who still hasn't slowed down much, and Chris Paul, who has become truly great.
And Duke?
Kyrie Irving is the best player on the list. He's joined by Gerald Henderson, Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer and Miles Plumlee.
Speaking of the Plumlees, Mason is shooting 66 % on the season and in April, he's hitting an amazing 82.6 % . Nets coach Jason Kidd has given him a pretty strict role in his rookie season, and he's getting some serious mentoring from Kevin Garnett.
That's interesting too, because some of you will remember that when Garnett was a rookie, Christian Laettner, in classic Laettner form, rode him pretty hard.
His career is going to be bookended with Duke big men. One wonders how his experience with Laettner informs his work with Plumlee.
