We love the way Tyler Ennis plays. He's amazingly smart and precocious. But is he ready to come out?

We'll see soon since he is, but consider: he's small-ish at 6-2 and 180, not particularly strong, and not overwhelmingly athletic. Also, no one's ever seen him defend since Syracuse plays exclusively zone (which may have something to do with the paucity of Orangemen in the league).
As Mark Jackson proved, average athleticism is not necessarily fatal in the NBA, but it is a liability, and it's more of one when you're 19 and physically immature.
When you look at the other great freshmen, Andrew Wiggins is skinny but brilliantly athletic, Jabari Parker needs to define his body more but is big enough to bang, and Joel Embiid is 6-11, which, as they say, you can't teach. Julius Gamble and Aaron Gordon are ahead of schedule athletically if not refined basketball players.
Ennis is making the biggest gamble. He's very likely to get the stuffing knocked out of him for a year or two.
