The Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) campaign made a classic stupid mistake Tuesday, using footage of Duke celebrating after Christian Laettner's immortal shot to beat the Wildcats in 1991.

When the campaign realized what had happened someone (the "vendor") yanked the footage...and substituted video of current Kentucky player Julius Randle.
Ooops.
Kentucky reported it to the NCAA and issued a cease and desist letter.
Naturally, the opposing camp had fun with the goof, with Democrat Alison Grimes tweeting that "KY, as your next Senator, I promise to never glorify a Duke championship in a campaign ad like @TeamMitch."
Of course, Grimes herself probably offended when she picked Kentucky to lose to Wichita State.
Maybe both campaigns would be smart to leave basketball to people who know what they're doing.
