The coaching carousel is starting and the first ACC victim is Virginia Tech coach James Johnson. New A.D. Whit Babcock made the call, saying that he "felt a change and a new direction was necessary for the long term, best interest of our department."

Is it possible that Mick Cronin might be willing to bail on Cincinnati and the AAC? Assuming Babcock had a good relationship with his former coach when both were at Cincinnati, why not try? Both were desperate to get to the ACC when expansion was on the table. Babcock made it; maybe it's Cronin's turn.
