It's not like anyone consults us or anything, but we're guessing that DeMarcus Cousin's big mouth has just about killed his chances at the Olympic team.
So far (the last week or two), he's picked arguments with Chris Paul and now, Mike Dunleavy, who he called "a clown." (the two had a fairly intense confrontation recently).
Dunleavy fired back, saying that "He called me a clown? I mean, I'd like to respond but clowns can't talk. So (I can) mime or (give him) some animal balloons or something. Oh man. That's the epitome of the pot calling the kettle black. But honestly I've never been called that before. I guess there's a first time for everything. I don't have much to say about him or that...I think his reputation speaks for itself. He's got a short fuse and is easily irritated so you can't really breathe on the guy without him flipping out. That kind of stuff happens, he's susceptible to that and probably will be for the rest of his career."
That's pretty much the knock on Cousins. He's got a lot of growing up to do. He didn't understand when Jerry Colangelo criticized his immaturity and he hasn't learned a thing since. Among them: don't alienate the guy who's going to be passing you the ball if you make the team. In the big picture, Dunleavy is unimportant, but alienating Paul is incredibly stupid.
