In Saturday ACC action, Clemson took Georgia Tech 63-55, State got past Virginia Tech 71-64, UNC hammered Wake Forest, 105-72, BC collapsed against Miami and lost by 27, while Virginia pulled off a remarkable feat against Notre Dame.
Notre Dame was giving UVa a game and the score was tied 43-43 with 11:26 and - well, here. Just look at it.
Notre Dame didn't hit 45 until the 2:31 mark. But by then, UVa had already run off 25 straight and the score was 68-45.
That's just plain dominance.
As for Notre Dame, the season continues to get worse and worse.
Carolina wasn't tired after the big Duke win, and ran right over Wake Forest, 102-75. The Heels even hit their free throws!
Wake is now one game over .500, has lost seven straight and the can-Bdzelik crowd is more and more likely top carry the day.
With the win over Tech, Clemson moves to a very respectable 17-9 with tourney hopes still alive.
Good news for Tech: Trae Golden is back. Bad news: he also had five turnovers.
Daniel Miller, laboring in obscurity, had another nice game with 14 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.
For Clemson, KJ McDaniels finished with 16 points, five rebounds, two assists, four steals and two blocks.
What would State have done had TJ Warren decided to leave early with everyone else? Good question. It would've been truly ugly.
It wasn't pretty against Virginia Tech, but the Pack played together long enough to overcome a Hokie comeback. Warren had 31 to pace the Pack.
There's not much to say about Miami and even less to say about BC, as the Eagles blew this game after a huge effort at Syracuse.
