The first consequence is that State's NCAA hopes are still alive while Wake's took a major hit. We often imagine an imaginary line which separates the realistic candidates from the no-way teams. For now, that line goes under Clemson, and we'll get to the Tigers in a minute.
Tony Warren had a sensational night for the Pack, scoring 34 and pulling down 10 boards. Ralston Turner added 16 while Cat Barber put in 10 off the bench.
Remember the old days, when Clemson could be reliably expected to choke on the road? Yeah, not any more: the Tigers have given FSU, Syracuse and now Notre Dame superb tests despite lacking, as Brad Brownell said afterwards, a more talented offense.
That'd be nice, but he still has Clemson playing brilliantly.
On Wednesday night, aside from the Duke-UNC tiff, the ACC will get BC at Georgia Tech and Syracuse visiting Pitt. No idea about either one. They're both hard to pick.
