We haven't had a chance to read Seth Davis's new book about John Wooden yet, but we're looking forward to it. If you haven't seen this excerpt yet, check it out.

You might remember that Bob Knight at one point had some rather pointed comments about UCLA, cheating and John Wooden, who had irritated the General by saying that he wouldn't want anyone he loved to play for Knight.

And you may have heard some about UCLA booster Sam Gilbert. Here's some background info which relies on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Lucius Allen.

Keep in mind that when Gene Bartow took over, he seriously thought that Gilbert might have him murdered.
