Good news for Lance Thomas as the Pelicans, who waived him earlier in the summer for cap space, have re-signed him to a two-year contract. He's now eligible for the veteran's minimum, which should be $884,293.

If you'll remember, Thomas was a late recruit who was down to Duke and Rutgers before picking Duke. When he got to Duke, he was forced into action despite not really being ready (this is a good lesson about recruit rankings) and finished his freshman year with a single assist, which is pretty amazing if you think about it.
That he became not just a superior player, although not statistically, and a leader really says a lot about him.
