Terrence Jones messed with the wrong homeless guy: Daniel Kellerher, who Jones allegedly stomped on, insisted on pressing charges and spoke out about the attack to Portland's News Channel 8:
âI didnât do nothing. I was laying there sleeping. It was a shock, you know? Something like an electric fence went through me at that point in time. You know it donât feel good...Itâs hard. I just want to cry. Itâs just hard to talk about because it hurts. I didnât think anybody would ever do that. Why the heck does he want to mess with the homeless? Thatâs what I canât figure out, why these guys out here they think theyâre better than us, because we sleep in a doorway and they sleep in a god dang bed? Ainât nobody out here on these streets better than the next person. We all get up. We all put our pants on one leg at a time."
Dennis Miller once said that the homeless have no power except when they slow-walk across a street and force cars to accommodate them. Looks like Kellerher found some of his own. He may be able to do the equivalent of slow-walking Jones right out of a major cash settlement and some endorsements to boot.
Obviously Jones hasn't gone to trial and hasn't been found guilty. But public opinion must be running massively against him.
