Given what we know about Drew Cannon, it's no surprise that Brad Stevens, who studies analytics as much as anyone, elected to take Cannon with him to Boston.

Cannon, a Duke grad, has already built a reputation as a numbers whiz. He went to Butler after Stevens was impressed at his work for Dave Telep. We'll be curious to see though how he translates his skills to the NBA.

In college, it took him 10-12 hours to crunch his formulas, and the next game was usually a couple of days away.

In the NBA, the games are longer and the breaks are a good bit shorter.

That said, he's really good at what he does and like the players, will figure out how to deal with the faster environment.
