Know how Jay Bilas has been all over Mark Emmert and the NCAA? Turns out Emmert has been paying attention, and doesn't particularly appreciate it.

He had a few things to say about Bilas, and Bilas, being Bilas, gave it right back. Good for him.

Speaking in New York City, Emmert talked about any number of things, including the NBA's age limit, pay-for-play (presidents strongly oppose it), the Ed O' Bannon case and more.

He also addressed the growing tension between the power conferences and the rest of their NCAA brethren.

The big conferences are of course arguing that they have reached a point where they're just not the same as the other schools and the needs are greater.

Needless to say, none of them agree that they are so different that they should actually pay players.

And the debate goes on. Some level of change is coming; the only question is just what it will turn out to be.
