You never know how players are going to develop,but UVa and Tony Bennett have to be pleased with what they saw from Akil Mitchell on their summer tour of Europe: he averaged 13.4 ppg and 10 rpg.
Bennett said this about his play: "He offensive rebounded, he ran the floor well, he got a lot of put-backs. He made some nice moves where he caught it and did an inside pivot or turned and faced the basket from about eight to 12 feet and was getting by people. He hit a few mid-range jumpers."
