Shaq Couldn't Touch This

Great centers, some people believe, only come along every 25 years. That isn't exactly true - Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell were contemporaries and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bill Walton, whose career was cut short by injuries, were just a few years apart. But true centers are rare. The last great one to come along was Shaquille O' Neal, who drew a lot of comparisons with Chamberlain.

But that's nonsense. Although the two played in very different eras, Chamberlain was a superb all-around athlete who competed in hoops, track and field, volleyball and amazingly enough, was agile enough to do some gymastics (rings).

And keep in mind that he entirely missed modern training.

So keep those things in mind when you watch this video and you realize that a young, properly trained Wilt Chamberlain would have destroyed Shaquille O' Neal. He was stronger - without training - jumped higher, ran faster and was a far, far superior rebounder.
