For Duke fans, it's no great surprise to see Shane Battier succeed; we've known what sort of person he is for a long time. It's nice to see, on the biggest stage possible, that he's finally getting some appreciation for a 17 point outing. Now if the rest of the Heat could play up to his standards.
That's not totally fair: LeBron James finished with 30 points, nine boards and four assists. Otherwise, though, slim pickings: Dywane Wade was held to 19 and Chris Bosh just 10.
The rest of the team managed 18.
Who would ever have thought that Battier would nearly have outscored Wade? Impressive.
