More instability for the Big East as Commissioner John Marinatto has resigned, apparently at the behest of conference presidents, which leads to the logical if confusing question of: which ones? There are so many schools coming and going that it's hard to tell who gets to vote these days.
At any rate, as we have long maintained, the tension between the truly great basketball conference and the financially critical football schools has ruined the conference. With Syracuse, Pitt and West Virginia already gone and UConn trying desperately to join the ACC, the handwriting is pretty much on the wall for the league.
