Thanks for all the comments on our April Fool's joke! In case you weren't sure, to the best of our knowledge, Duke and UNC are not actively being courted by the SEC and are not ready to accept invitations in the next few days.
We've been doing this pretty much since the beginning and this one was fun. Last year's though (NCAA awards full 1995 season to Coach K thus giving him the all-time win record a bit early) was the best in one sense because we kept hearing about it well into the summer.
On the other hand, it's hard to top the bow-and-arrow Lemur hunt in Duke Forest, or Krzyzewskiville-as-Wetlands or perhaps the best of all, the return of Dean Smith to the UNC job three years after he left it. That one we did using Herald-Sun imagery, something they didn't fully appreciate (though they were very nice about it). Their paper wasn't online then but that didn't stop the story from being picked up as far away as Kansas.
We heard the funniest thing we've heard since we've been here after that, though we're not at liberty to pass it on. But it was great.
