Spying On Your Athletes Is Not Cool

Social media has presented some real challenges to college sports programs. There have been more than a few embarrassing revelations lately involving several schools. Now, some are resorting to using companies like Varsity Monitor, which, well, does what the name suggests: it monitors athletes and how they use social media.

We can understand the frustration and concern by universities, and that a foolish comment by one athlete can do serious damage, but on some level, this is just wrong.
