The coaching carousel has a number of interesting developments, not least of all that Danny Manning is to take the Tulsa job. That's really intriguing.
Manning has an excellent basketball mind and he's been around a lot of very smart coaches. We suspect he'll do very well.
Secondly, John Groce has taken the Illinois job. His Ohio team was very very tough and impressive. If he can get that kind of result with the Illini, they'll be very happy.
Third, Larry Brown, now 71 and missing coaching a great deal, has been angling for a way back in since being fired by the Bobcats. His fortunes have fallen from the NBA to higher level college teams to now angling for the SMU jobopen after Matt Doherty was fired.
