Duke women, somewhat like Carolina's men's team, paid a heavy price for injuries, and like UNC, the end came in the Elite Eight. Duke fell to Stanford 81-69.
Chelsea Gray finished with 23 points and Tricia Liston added 15. Elizabeth Williams finished off a sensational freshman year playing with a stress fracture. She nonetheless scored 12 points.
Duke finishes 27-6 and showed a great deal of heart and character.
