You know, sometimes you read things and you just wonder what people are thinking. That was the case for us when we read these comments by Texas A&M A.D. Bill Byrne about the end of the rivalry with Texas: "I feel badly about that," he told Dallasnews.com. "I'm very foolish. I assumed -- and it was a rash assumption on my part -- that our friends over in the state capital would want to continue playing us. It turns out they didn't think we were as much of a rival as we thought of them."
It's just...what do you even say to that? Texas was lording it over the rest of the conference, to be sure, but it was A&M that chose to leave. You can't possible expect to dump the conference and keep the good bits too.
