Two stories which may not get the attention they deserve: Michigan and UConn transfers and pro defections. Michigan announced three transfers Wednesday and star rookie PG Trey Burke is considering his pro prospects. Michigan could lose up to seven players before next year, counting seniors.
Meanwhile, in Storrs, Alex Oriakhi, who clearly didn't appreciate being supplanted by Andre Drummond, is leaving.
Drummond says he plans on returning, but lots of guys say that during the season. He could certainly leave, as could Jeremy Lamb and conceivably Shabazz Napier, all of whom could get greater or lesser NBA interest.
With just one recruit coming in, UConn could be in real trouble.
By the way, Oriakhi is apparently going to be eligible immediately, assuming the UConn post-season ban stands. So who is in desperate need of a big man fast? Tony Bennett on line one!
