Although Elizabeth Williams had foul trouble which limited her minutes against State, Allison Vernerey more than held her own against the Pack, finishing with 13 points, many of them critical to blunting a State rally and helped Duke to win 83-59.
State coach Kelly Harper sounds a bit resigned to it:
"Check the stats. Thatâs what she does against N.C. State."
True enough: last year, Vernerey ripped State for 20 points and 10 boards.
