It was another slow start, which is understandable given the travel involved, but Duke pulled away from China in the second half to win 78-66. Ryan Kelly was easily the most impressive player. In fact, he appears to be on an entirely different level than last year.
Also encouraging: Miles Plumlee's very solid play inside. Duke needs a scorer in the paint, and right now it looks as if MP1 has the inside track there. Mason Plumlee still at times appears hesitant to shoot.
Andre Dawkins looked very solid, Seth Curry certainly held his own and while Austin Rivers had what could best be called a growing experience, he'll be fine.
One small note from this game: we were struck by how much Alex Murphy resembles Duke legend Bobby Hurley. He reminded us a great deal of #11.
