Paul Hewitt seems thrilled to be at George Mason, and why not? As he said in his press conference, he felt a little "beat up" after Georgia Tech, and Jim Larranaga leaves him the core of a team which won more than twice as many games as Tech did last season.
Hewitt was headed for a vacation in St. Maarten when his opportunity arose and told the assembled Monday that "I traded one paradise for another."
That might be a bit thick, but his heart's in the right place, and he might end up being a good fit, too, particularly since he's much less likely to have a string of one-and-dones at Mason.
