Speaking of Battier, in the Q&A we linked the other day, he said this:Â "I think advanced statistical analysis is a good way to re-evaluate the game. Is it the end all be all? No. But itâs a piece in the puzzle that hasnât been examined before that I think will change the way the game is looked at by everybody."
We had some dim idea of what he's talking about -- the sort of thing that the New York Times Magazine article from February '09 was about -- but the idea is picking up steam. These are almost certainly the guys the Rockets were working with. As you can see, the art is advancing.
