Amaker, Harvard Break Through

If you buy something from an SB Nation link, Vox Media may earn a commission. See our ethics statement.

When Tommy Amaker was let go at Michigan, heading to Harvard seemed to many like a career-ending move. Not any more:  Harvard is in the Top 25 for the first time ever, and Amaker's name is going to start popping up in searches across the country.

If he wanted to leave, that is.

It's also nice to see him get things fired up there as his former backcourt mate Johnny Dawkins gets Stanford going.  Toss in former Duke assistant Mike Brey at Notre Dame and Duke has a lot to do with the basketball success at three other elite schools.
