At long last, the ACC season is ready to kick off, perhaps appropriately for the newly expanded conference, literally from sea to shining sea: Miami plays in Coral Gables, Florida, and UNC plays on the ocean, on the USS Carl Vincent, against Tom Izzo's Michigan State team.
FSU hosts Jacksonville, Loyola visits Wake, Miami welcomes Tennessee Tech, State hosts UNC-Asheville and former State assistant Eddie Biedenbach, Georgia Tech takes on the Rattlers of Florida A&M and Clemson gets Gardner-Webb.
Duke and UNC have the only meaningful opponents, but it'll still be interesting to see how everyone does, not least of all Wake, where optimism is putting forth green shoots if not yet results.
We'll be very interested to see how State, Miami and Tech respond to fresh coaching.
