We were very sorry to learn about the death of Reynolds Price, who became indelibly associated with Duke over the years. Price was a superb writer, a better friend and a wonderful teacher. He leaves behind many friends at Duke and beyond.
Price had a major heart attack Sunday but people with big hearts are hard to finish off. He fought until Thursday, when he succumbed. He is irreplaceable.
