Maryland had a 12 point lead with 10 minutes to go but collapsed down the stretch and gave up 19 straight points to Villanova. They didn't help themselves by hitting 10-18 from the free-throw line.

When you think about it, Maryland has a certain amount in common with Virginia.  Both teams play tough defense, both teams are well coached,  yet both teams lack something. Yet both will go a long way on their innate toughness.

Florida State held at Wolfpack to 19 first-half points.  That's Sendekian.

Defense was the story of the game as usual with Florida State: the Seminoles held the Pack to 38.7% from the floor while hitting an uncharacteristic 54.5% themselves. After beating Duke,  Florida State currently holds the tiebreaker for second place with the Devils (B.C. is also 3-1).

No great surprise that Virginia Tech be Wake Forest of course, but they really pounded them and have now won seven of their last eight.

Wake's defensive woes continue as they allowed the Hokies to shoot nearly 60% from the floor and 47.1% from three-point range.

How bad was it? Pretty bad.

Miami won a game they simply had to win, but but Boston College pushed them to the limit. Even when free throws put Miami up by four with 3 seconds to go, B.C. managed to cut it back to one. They've shown a lot of heart this season and we expect that will continue.

Only one game on Sunday as UNC visits Atlanta to take on the struggling Yellowjackets. The only clear thing Georgia Tech has going for them is that this game is at home. It would be a considerable upset if they won.
