In Friday night's only ACC game, Georgia Tech prevailed over Mercer, 87-78. All you need to know about this game is this: Mercer is 3-10 and Georgia Tech had to mount a comeback to win it.

That's really bad. We generally give some credit for exam and holiday breaks, but really, Georgia Tech used to be a feared program. Teams like Mercer lost on the bus ride up. No more.
We don't know if you are following Steve Donahue's transition as closely as we are, but you should be. The guy is doing an amazing job in his first season at B.C. They're very much in line for a bid, not something that seemed possible earlier this year.
On the player side of things, Jordan Williams has emerged as a solid candidate for All-ACC. The guy has just really come on.
Dan Weiderer takes a closer look at State's season and thinks that the next three games - against San Diego, Elon and Wake - are critical. State will be favored, he points out, but must improve.
And of course getting Tracy Smith back would help too, not to mention a bit of overall discipline.
On Sunday, the first of those three games takes place as San Diego comes to town. We'll see how it goes.
B.C. also visits South Carolina, which could also be a very interesting game. Both teams have excellent coaches.
